Day of the Dead at Disneyland Paris

really really love the celebration of the Day of the Dead.
This
year, I celebrated this holiday at Disneyland Paris. When I visited the park in
mid October, I thought the park was going to be full of Halloween decorations
but I was very surprised when I saw that it wasn’t like that. The Haunted
Mansion (which is called the Phantom Manor in Paris) wasn’t transformed into a
ride of Jack Skeleton, like it is in the Disneyland park in Anaheim. The ride
was the same story and there was only a pumpkin outside the attraction to show
it was Halloween season. A little North, at the Frontierland area there were a
lot of seasonal décor, but not for Halloween, but for the Day of the Dead in
honor of the new movie Coco (which you have to see because it’s so good). There
was even live Mariachi and Mexican cuisine. I’m not a big fan of Mariachi
music, but it felt really good listening to Mariachi outside of Mexico and at a
really far country. All of the people there were very excited taking pictures
of the colorful skeletons while listening to the Mariachi. This new tradition at
the parks of Disneyland started this year and I hope it stays for long.

Este año,
celebré este día festivo en Disneyland Paris. Al entrar a este parque en el mes
de octubre, pensé que iba a estar decorado mil de Halloween pero me sorprendí
mucho porque no fue así. La mansión embrujada que se transforma en el parque de
Disneyland de Anaheim a un juego de Jack Skeleton, no se transforma en el
parque en París. El juego se mantiene igual y solo había como una calabaza
afuera del juego como símbolo del Halloween. Un poco más al Norte, en el área
de Frontierland si se podían ver más decoraciones de temporada, pero no de
Halloween sino del día de muertos. El área fue decorada con esqueletos
sonrientes en honor a la película de Coco (que por cierto me encantó y tienen
que verla). Hasta mariachi en vivo y platillos mexicanos se ofrecían en ese
lugar, lo cual me súper encantó. Yo no soy una súper fan del mariachi, pero
sentí súper bonito el escuchar esa música fuera de mi país y en un lugar que
está muy lejos. La gente también estaba encantada tomándose fotos con las
decoraciones y escuchando la música mexicana. La tradición de los esqueletos
mexicanos empezó este año, pero espera que se siga repitiendo en el futuro.
